Squooshi Review & Giveaway

Squooshi Review and Giveaway
I received the Squooshi assorted 4 pack for review.  This pack contains 2 small pouches, 2 large pouches and 4 no choke caps.   The small pouches can hold 2.5 oz. - about the amount of a small jar of baby food.  The large pouches hold 4.5 oz.  They arrived in a cute little reusable drawstring bag.
Squooshi, was started by a father-daughter team, Shannon Wren Waldis and Noel Wren, who were inspired to create a well-designed reusable food pouch that would be helpful to parents, fun for kids of all ages, and better for our environment!  Squooshi pouches are BPA, Phthlate, PVC, and Lead free.  They also are super convenient since they are reusable, freezable, dishwasher safe, and not to mention, totally adorable!

I love that Squooshi pouches allow me to feed Baby Boy fresh and healthy foods that I made myself!  I just got done making a batch of apple puree for him and thought that this would be perfect to try out our new Squooshi reusable pouch.  One of the great things about these pouches is that you can make whatever fruit, veggie, or a combination of the them that you want your baby or toddler to try!  You can even find some Squooshi recipes to try here.  Squooshi's have a ziploc type seal at the bottom which makes it super easy to fill up with whatever nutrious option you want to feed your little one.

I was worried that the Squooshi pouches would be a little hard to fill, especially the smaller ones, but I easily solved that problem.  Obviously, a funnel would make these really easy to fill, but who has funnels lying around the kitchen?  If you're a mom you probably do! I just used the funnel part of my breast pump accessories to easily fill the pouch.  I filled it about 2/3 full to make sure I didn't overfill them and cause the puree to squeeze out too easily when Baby Boy held it.

I probably could have filled both of the small pouches and both of the large pouches with the one batch of puree I made.  So, for the cost of 1 1/2 apples I just made 4 baby food pouches!  That's already such a savings compared to the cost of 4 pre-filled pouches which usually run about $1.50-$2.25 each!

Baby Boy is still getting the hang of pouches.  He knows to open his mouth when he sees it, but he just doesn't want to always hold it and squeeze out the food, so I had to help with that.  Spoon attachments will fit right on the Squooshi pouch, so I may get one of those for now.  I anticipate us using our Squooshis for a LONG time since they are really great for kids of ANY age!  They are perfect for easy feeding, especially as he gets older and gets more proficient using the pouches by himself.  The pouches were also really easy to clean.  The bottle brush fit right in there, but these are also safe to put in the dishwasher.  And don't worry- these are strong!  Baby Boy had no problems squeezing, chewing and holding them tight when he didn't have to feed himself and nothing leaked out anywhere!
All in all, we really like our Squooshi reusable pouches.  They are super cute,
eco-friendly, cost effective, and easy to use and clean!
